About
Every mirror here is cut by hand, one at a time, in a corrugated iron shed outside Bellingen.
The work starts with plywood and a flat sheet of glass, and most of what happens after that is subtraction. Edges are cut away until the outline stops being a rectangle. Faces are burnt into circuitry and grids, painted over, sanded back, left to run. Some pieces keep the bare timber. Others end up buried under oxide red and cobalt.
Nothing is made twice. A shape gets cut once, and whatever the saw and the burner did that day is what the piece is. That is the whole point of it, and it is also why there is no catalogue to order from: what is on the collection page is what exists.
